Belacef

each bottle contains:
Sterile Ceftriaxone sodium USP eq. anhydrous
ceftriaxone 1 g.

Belacef is prescribed for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to it:

• infections of the ENT organs, upper and lower respiratory tract (acute and chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, lung abscess, pleural empyema);
• infections of the skin and soft tissues (including streptoderma);
• infections of the genitourinary organs (pyelitis, acute and chronic pyelonephritis, cystitis, prostatitis, epididymitis, gynecological infections, uncomplicated gonorrhea);
• infections of the abdominal organs (infections of the biliary tract and gastrointestinal tract, peritonitis);
• sepsis and bacterial septicemia;
• infections of bones (osteomyelitis), joints;
• bacterial meningitis and endocarditis;
• chancroid, syphilis, Lyme disease (spirochetosis);
• typhoid fever;
• salmonellosis and salmonella carriage;
• infections in immunocompromised patients;
• prevention of postoperative purulent-septic complications.

Standard dosage regimen:

Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1-2 g once a day (every 24 hours). In severe cases or for infections whose pathogens are only moderately sensitive to ceftriaxone, the daily dose can be increased to 4 g. The duration of treatment depends on the course of the disease. As always with antibiotic therapy, the administration of Belacef should be continued in patients for at least 48-72 hours after the temperature has normalized and eradication of the pathogen has been confirmed.
